There were approximately 700 people through the door last year and this year the event was sold
out, with numbers reaching over 700 people in attendance.
Each person at the Bayfield Beer, Wine and Food Festival was entitled to 16 food and drink samples
from the various vendors, with the purchase of a $40 ticket to the event.

The Second Annual Bay-
field Beer, Wine and Food
Festival held at the Bayfield
Community Arena, was a
sold out event last Saturday.
"The organization is the
Bayfield Arena Community
partners association. Basi-
cally, the profits go to our
organization and things that
we have done is try to reduce
the cost for some of the skat-
ing clubs or minor hockey
groups," explained event
organizer Ron Keys.
Tickets to the event were
$40 per person, which
included 16 samples for bev-
erages or food from local res-
taurants, breweries and
wineries.
The evening also included
live music from three local
bands: The Empty Trips from
Goderich, Madison Galloway
and the O'Deadly's.
Last years event saw
approximately 700 people
through the door, and this
year the event was sold out,
so no tickets were sold at the
door.
"I guess it's more of a
modern approach. We have
virtually no seating at all. It
forces people to move
around and mingle and find
another drink or food sam-
ple somewhere else in the
building. It seems to work,"
added Keys.
Those in attendance had
their choice of food samples
from local businesses such
as Pat and Kevin's On The
Square from Goderich, Part
II Bistro from Blyth, Ash -
wood Bourbon Bar, The
Docks, The Albion, all out of
Bayfield and Smackwater
Jack's from Grand Bend.
Choice of wine or beer
came from wineries such as
Maelstrom, Darkhouse and
Alton Forest, and from brew-
eries such as Beau's, White-
water, Stone 'louse, Bad
Apple, MacLeans, Railway
City, Black Donnelly's;
Forked River, Toboggan
Brewing, River Road and
Bayfield Brewing.
"We just hit the mark at
the right time; beer, food and
live music. The coffee shop
talk after last year's festival
was 'that was a good time' or
'darn, I wish I would have
gone'," Keys stated on the
success of the festival. "It's
an opportunity to try a new
craft beer or to taste some-
thing from one of the Local
restaurants before the sum-
mer comes"
