Celebration with a $1, 000 grant to plant trees
Union Gas supported the Town
of Goderich with a $1,000 grant to
purchase trees to plant as part of
the town's Earth Day celebration.

Earth Day celebration here in

For almost 30 years, the Town
of Goderich and Union Gas have
partnered to celebrate Earth Day
with the youth of the town.
Every year there is a tradition
of planting two trees at local
schools.
There is an added educational
component, where youth learn

the value of urban trees and why
they are important to the urban
environment.
The students are also shown
proper tree -planting techniques
including how to maintain trees
after planting.
"With its generous donation,

onstrated its commitment to
enhancing our urban environ-
ment while providing an educa-
tional opportunity for local
youth," said Sean Thomas, oper-
ations manager, Town of Goder-
