Senior Leadership Team,
Foundation Staff, AMGH
Community Advisory Com-
mittee, and Physicians
recently came together for
an annual' retreat. This year's
theme was "Working
Together'
Updates were provided on
the Hospital's Clinical Ser-
vices Plan and the Founda-
tion's Fund Development
Plan. Positive progress is
being made in all areas and
the sharing of information
provided a clear under-
standing of mutual goals and
needs.
A key priority was open
communication with
patients, caregivers, donors,
healthcare providers and the
community at large. The
structure of the Clinical Ser-
vices Plan is based on the
three areas of excellence at
the Hospital - Seniors'
Health, Women's Health,
and Mental Health and
Addictions.
While the Hospital's main
focus remains to provide the
best health care and patient
experience, the Foundation
continues its focus on pro-
viding the Hospital with the
funds necessary to purchase
the state of the art equip-
ment required by the Hospi-
tal. Equipment purchases
require local contribution
a n d donor
support as funding is not in
the Hospital's operational
budget from the govern-
ment. Not only does this
equipment increase and
enhance the services pro-
vided at AMGH, it is essen-
tial to recruiting and retain-
ing talented professionals.
In order to do this, the
AMGH Foundation has
engaged fundraising con-
sultants Ketchum Canada
Inc. (KCI). Over the sum-
mer months, KCI will con-
duct a series of confidential
interviews with individuals
from the community.
Following the planning
phase and based on the rec-
ommendations of KCI and
input from AMGH, the
Foundati-on plans on
launching a major fundrais-
ing campaign.
The Hospital and Founda-
tion Boards of Directors are
proud of the relationship
that has been fostered
between the Hospital and
Foundation.
Both understand that a
close working relationship
and aligned mission, vision,
and values helps to ensure
that the Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital con-
tinues to provide the very
best quality health care to
the residents and visitors of
Goderich and neighbouring
communities.
