COOK, Esther Jean (McIntyre) -
At Wildwood Nursing Home in St Mary's, Esther Jean Cook
(McIntyre) in her 92nd year. Cherished wife of the late William F.
Cook. Loving mother to Alan Cook of Stratford, Lynda and Ron
King of Lakeside. Missed by her grandchildren Jeff (Nathalie) King,
Michael (Alison) King and David King. Proud great-grandmother to
Elizabeth, Ainsley, Lindsey and Rowan. Survived by nieces Shirley
(the Late Stewart Rice), Mary (Jim) Dougall, Ruth Jackson, nephew
Paul Wilson and several grandnieces and nephews. Predeceased
by parents Sharzel and Jean McIntyre (Muir) of Avonbank and St.
Mary's. Sisters Ruth (Doug Tuttle & Ken Gunning), Helene (Nelson
Roulston & Inman Thompson), Murial in infancy, twin sister Marion
(Jack Wilson) and nephew Bob Thompson. Brother and sister-in-
law Frank and Elva Mutch of Clinton, father and mother-in-law
William J. and Avilenia Cook of Clinton. Esther moved to Clinton
during the war years and was a switchboard supervisor at Bell
Canada. She married Bill (Blondie) in September 1945 and they
made homes in London, Sarnia, Waterloo, Clinton and finally
Goderich where they lived for nearly 40 years. After Bills death in
2006 Esther returned to Perth County and lived in Stratford before
returning to St. Mary's in 2015. Esther took great pride in
maintaining her beautiful home. She loved gardening, needlework
and entertaining family and their wide circle of friends. In
accordance with Esther's wishes a private family burial will take
place at Clinton Cemetery. Esther's family would like to thank the
staff at her former residence The Anne Hathaway Retirement Home
and the staff of Wildwood Nursing Home for making Esther's life
comfortable and peaceful in her last years. In lieu of flowers and in
expressions of sympathy, donations to your local hospital would be

JOHNSTON, Thelma Doreen (Appleby) -
Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Seaforth Manor on
Tuesday, April 18, 2017 Thelma Doreen (Appleby) Johnston of
Blyth in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Ken "Speed"
Johnston (2007) and the late Gordon McDougall (1995). Loving
mother of Wayne (Debbie) McDougall, Bill (Brenda) McDougall,
Diane (Ken) Anderson, Shirley Taylor (Dave Armstrong) and Kevin
McDougall (Terri Harrison). Missed by 10 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren. Stepmother of Glenda (Dave) Novak, Blaine
(Tracy) Johnston, Dori Johnston (Chris Shalone), Lee (Albert)
Kwong and Sonya (Jeff) Werner. Dear sister of Marguerite Peckitt,
Don (Sharon) Appleby and sister-in-law of Lillian Appleby. Also
missed by nieces 'and nephews. Predeceased by her parents
Samuel and Mary Appleby, brothers Lloyd and Bill Appleby,
brother-in-law John Peckitt, sister-in-law lona MacLean, son-in-law
Dan Taylor and grandson Luke Anderson. Visitation will be held at
the Blyth United Church on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral
Service will be held at the Blyth United Church on Saturday, April
22, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment Blyth Union Cemetery. As
expressions of sympathy, donations to the Blyth Legion or the
Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Condolences for

McALISTER, Leda Marie (nee Rostocky) -
Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at home
in Bayfield, Ontario on April 14, 2017. Born near Winnipeg,
Manitoba on October 8th, 1929, Leda McAlister was in her 87th
year. Predeceased by her parents, Dan and Katherine Rostocky
(nee Wachna), sister Alma Rostocky, brother Donald Rostocky, ex-
husband Robert Lewis (2013) and former husband Alec McAlister
(1987). Survived by her loving husband Ross Lehman. Also
survived by her sister Winona (Don, deceased), sisters Adelle
(Jose) and Cathy. She will be greatly missed by many friends and
family including her three sons, Ted Rosenthallewis (Katie), David.
Lewis (Kathy) and Greg Lewis (Rachel). Equally missed by her
stepsons with Alec; Steve (Joan), Dan (Fran), Andrew (Bente),
Kenneth and Mark (Debbie). Also by her stepchildren with Ross;
Peter, Steve (Elizabeth), Michael (Linda) and Anne. Leda (Baba)
will be especially greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and
grandchildren. Leda grew up near Winnipeg, MB in a strong
Ukrainian family and community. She married Bob (Robert) Lewis
in Winnipeg; they later moved to Ontario and started a family. She
met and married Alec McAlister in the 1970's. Leda met Ross
Lehman and they married in Sept. 2007. At 75 years young they
were the first couple married at Goderich by a marriage
commissioner for the town. Leda and Ross loved gardening,
reading and meeting with their meditation group. Leda was a
talented artist; she was an accomplished painter and sculptor. Her
garden at Bayfield is a testament to her love of beauty. Her art was
what she loved to work at all her life. Leda's gift was to make each
of us feel special and loved. She will be greatly missed. Cremation
has taken place. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday,
April 29th, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in her garden, at their
home near Bayfield; 77075 Hwy. #21. Donations to

MURRAY, Michael William -
Passed away at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on
Thursday, April 20th, 2017 in his 87th year. Dear husband of Donna
for 64 years. Survived by siblings Joan (Late Eric) Preece of Royal
Oak Michigan, Catherine (Late Benson) Botz of Goderich Ontario
and James (Cathy) Murray of Renfrew Ontario. Predeceased by his
parents Lionel and Florence Murray and brother Patrick Murray. At
Michael's request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations made to the
Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. You

WOODALL, Arlien -
Arlien Woodall Nee Caldwell in her 96th year. Predeceased by her
Father Claude Caldwell, Mother Lillian Caldwell, Brother Sunny
Caldwell, husband of 43 years George Woodall, Daughter in Law
Judy Woodall, and Son in Law Ted Rotteau. She is survived by
Lynda Rotteau, Bob Woodall and his wife Sue Woodall, Judy
Crawford and her Husband Ken Crawford, Karen Tebow and her
Husband Alfred Tebow. Grandchildren Michelle Rotteau and her
Husband Andrew Barton, Ed Rotteau and his wife Jana Rotteau,
Melanie Woodall, Jason Woodall and his wife Megan Webb,
Rachael Litwinenko and her husband Steve Litwinenko, Sarah
Campbell and her Husband Will Campbell, Nick Crawford and his
wife Amber Dodge.at Grand Children Fiona Woodall, Jude
Woodall, Violet Lit inenko, Seth Crawford, Nico Crawford, Ty
Crawford, Paden Campbell and Lilly Campbell. Also fondly
remembered by many Legion and Navy friends. Arlien was born in
Quebec City and worked for the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII
where she met her husband George. They lived in Cooksville
where she was heavily involved in the Girl Guides of Canada and
Community Living. After moving to Goderich she continued her
work with Community Living serving on the Board of Directors for
many years. She and George helped to organize the Royal
Canadian Naval Association in Goderich and could be seen at
parades with the old style cannon. They attended many Naval
reunions and hosted two reunions of the HMCS Goderich in their
back yard. A memorial visitation will took place at Knox
Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 12 p.m. until
the time of service at 1 p.m. Donations came be made to
Community Living Central Huron or Branch 109 Royal Canadian
