The bakery holds tradi- tion of several generations working and owning ft, and the town of Goderich also holds that same tradition for regular and loyal customers. "We have been around for so long, everybody knows us. We try to make a quality product, and we make as much as we can from scratch," said Darin. To celebrate 140 years as a bakery, Darin explained that they would not make a big deal of it, but instead offer the odd giveaway or draw throughout the year. Customers can expect Canada themed cupcakes and cakes to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confed- eration of Canada to be sold at Culbert's this July. Culbert's Bakery was fea- tured in magazine Bakers Journal in their January/Feb- ruary 2017 issue. According to Bakers Jour- nal, Culbert's Bakery pro- duces around 700 to 800 dozen creampuffs a week, during the summer months. An absolutely remarkable feat that a business that began as a bakery in 1877 has suc- cessfully continued as a bak- ery 140 years later, albeit a dif- ferent family owning it It has survived being passed from three different families, an ever-changing economy and world, and the OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE LATE Di.CURRY.
