Photo courtesy of Gina McDonnell Benmiller Hall underwent renovations and is having a Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 28. The Hall was a school from 1880 for over 70 years. Grand Opening of Benmi A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Friday, April 28 Kathleen Smith Goderich Signal Star Benmiller Commnity Hall will host a Grand Opening on Friday, April 28, at 2pm, located at 37252 Londesboro Road in Benmiller. The Benmiller Community Hall Com- mittee was able to raise $475, 000 to fund the renovations and their fun- draising efforts continue. In regards to funding the renova- tion project, the larger grants came from the Federal government, the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Charles H. Ivey Foundation. There were also larger private donations, as well as donations madeby local businesses and corporations. Benmiller Community Hall received a single donation from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) of $100, 1 i 300, which was the largest grant pro- vided for the renovation project The C.H. Ivey Foundation pro- vided $100, 000 while the Federal government gave the most through combined grants: The Canada 150 Program provided $97, 500; The Enabling Accessibility Fund pro- vided $50, 000; The New Horizons for Seniors Program gave $25, 000.
