Lacey and Mike Bean are no stran-
gers to the Sick Kids Hospital in
Toronto and the exceptional care in
service provided to families and chil-
dren with serious health scares.
"When our daughter Kinslee was
three months old, she was diagnosed
with a Congenital Heart Defect, which
was going to require open heart sur-
gery," said Lacey.
The Beans had a very stressful wait-
ing period of four months, until Kinslee
was booked in to have heart surgery on
July 6 in Toronto at the Sick Kids
Hospital.
Kinslee hada permanent lifelong
pacemaker installed, due to a compli-
cation in her surgery, but eventually
Kinslee was discharged and the Bean
family returned home.
"Supporting Toronto Sick Kids is very
near and dear to our hearts. We couldn't
possibly express enough how important
this charity really is," explained Lacey.
"Because of the support for that hospi-
tal, they are able to provide the care
those children deserve while trying to
do their best to give a home -like feeling,
with lots of activities, surprises and fun
things for the kids."
While the Bean family was in
Toronto during Kinslee's treatment and
surgery, Mike Bean purchased lottery
tickets, to give back and support Sick
Kids because of the exceptional care
that was provided during their stay in
the. Hospital.
"Everyone in that place goes above
and beyond to make sure you get what
you need and they provide second to
none care for their patients;" said Lacey.
"They sure helped ease a very stressful
time to be a little more tolerable."
During the Sick Kids Christmas
Campaign, the Bean family purchased
lottery tickets again, and the Grand
Prize draw was made on March 22.
The Bean family was notified on
March 22 that they were the winners of
the One Million Dollar Prize.
"It certainly is very life changing for
us, and although it doesn't erase what
we have endured and all that Kinslee
has been through, it will sure help us to
be able to experience some wonderful
opportunities," said Lacey.
According to Lacey and Mike Bean,
supporting Toronto Sick Kids is very
near and dear to their hearts, and giv-
ing back and showing support paid off
and went full circle.
