The Luncheon featured a buffet style lunch hosted and provided by the staff at the Candlelight Restaurant and Tavern, and a door prize, which was won by Judy Kay who will retire as "Treasurer of Goderich in July. Central Huron Deputy Mayor Dave Jewitt wel- comed the guests to the Luncheon and introduced the Mayor of Goderich. "I want to congratulate all of the members of the Chamber that are here today. It's a tremendous amount of work that you guys do in our communities and this is what makes our communities where we want to live," said Jewitt. "This is a very vibrant community, and you have a great place here in Goderich. It's the people who make the com- munity successful:" The Mayor's Luncheon is'a way to have a meeting, com- municate and inform on changes or ongoing issues, and to honour the efforts of those on the Chamber, the MENESET ON THE LAKE — A Parkbridge Community — Town Councils and the Comity Councils. Mayor ;Morrison began his speech by thanking mem- bers of County Council who were in attendance, such as Warden and Mayor of Cen- tral Huron, Jim Ginn; Mayor of South Iluron Maureen Cole and Deputy Mayor of Central I luron, Dave Jewitt. "We have an exceptional County Council. That was one of my priorities when elected, that we come to the table and work with our Municipal partners. I think we are doing a great job in our own Municipalities and with the County at large," said Mayor Morrison. Further into his speech, the Mayor went on to thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to be at the event, as well as the Chamber for organizing the event, claiming, "when busi- nesses come together, great things can happen." Recognizing the Town staff for their efforts, Mayor Morri- son especially pointed out the hard work and service Judy Kay has put into her position as Treasurer for Goderich. Commenting on the Town Council, Mayor Morrison explained how sometimes working in positions such as these, sometimes can be a thankless job of the endless efforts that go into maintain- ing and improving our community. "We have a great Council here in town. We work well together. We don't always agree on every issue. It's a pleasure serving with you on Council, and thank you for your long hours and dedica- tion to the community," said Mayor Morrison as he recog- nized the hard work the Town Councillors put into those positions. Apart from thanking vari- ous notable members in the community and the County, Mayor Morrison also updated and informed the guests on upcoming projects. in Goderich, and how change is inevitable and that in order to maintain success and improve, the Town must also change.
