THURSDAY APRIL 6TH 10AM TO 4PM
FRIDAY APRIL 7TH 10AM TO 4PM
entertaining and provocative,
the Livery presents THE
SPRING FLING FILM FESTI-
VAL on April 7 & 8 at Goder-
ich's Park Theatre.
It kicks off Friday night at 7 pm
with JULIETA, Pedro Almadovar's
nod to Alice Munro.
Loosely based on three of her
short stories, Almadovar once
again draws on strong female
characters. the story centers on a
estranged mother/daughter rela-
tionship and offers a most sincere
drama. Special Bonus - Director
Pedro Almadovar has sent an
autographed photo that will be
given away to a lucky attendee at
the movie.
The Festival continues at 9 pm
with SEARCHERS (Magliglutt) a
story of redemption set against
the vast tableau of Canada's far
north. It is as much ethnography
as drama, Maliglutit - the title
translates as "searchers"-- illus-
trates the customs and rhythms of
the Inuit while telling the story of
the hunt. From the director of The
Fast Runner.
Saturday's matinee at 2 pm
features MOONLIGHT, this
year's Oscar winner for Best Pic-
ture and Best Supporting
Actress.. A challenging but very
rewarding film, it chronicles the
childhood, and coming of age of
a young, African-American, gay
man growing up in a -rough
neighborhood of Miami.
The Film Fest concludes that
evening at 7 pm with A MAN
CALLED OVE, the screen adapta-
tion of the wildly popular novel
about a neighbourhood cur-
mudgeon who finds love and
acceptance in the most unlikely
places. Poignant and funny.
The Spring Fling Film Fest is
brought to you in conjunction
with TIFF -Toronto International
Film Festival. Rush tickets are
available a half hour prior to
each screening. Regular $12 or
