The Livery to host an all female
production of "The Odd Couple"

Two mismatched room-
mates - one neat and uptight,
while the other unkempt and
easygoing. Vexing one
another due to differences,
only to realize the positive
effects of having each other
as a friend - 'The Odd Couple'
written by Neil Simon.
An adapted version by
Simon features the same sto-
ryline but has quite a differ-
ent approach - the two main
characters are females.
Local theatre, The Livery,
which has produced shows
since 1975, is the host for the
female adapted version of
'The Odd Couple; directed
by Lisa Hood.
According to Hood who
has been directing stage pro-
ductions for seven years, the
strength of the script lies in
the fact that Neil Simon
maintained the struggle of
the characters and did not
feminize it, "He wrote a script
about real women and I think
that is why I was so drawn to
the script in the first place'
Hood was not the only one
to be drawn to the script and
acknowledges that it takes a
community to make a play
happen. Shelley Morley and
Caitlin Carr (Stage Manag-
ers), Liam Morley (Lighting
Design), John Lodge (Pro-
ducer), Greg Reynolds and
Brian Makcrow (On -set Con-
struction) are all behind the
scenes yet intricate pieces to
this production.
