The program will feature songs to celebrate the 150th birthday of Canada as well as other well-known interna- tional music - from traditional folk songs to modern tunes. Those in attendance should expect to hear every- thing from ballads celebrat- ing the unifying influence of the railways to Canadian music written for the movie "Passchendaele' - an iconic World War I battle that fur- thered the definition of Can- ada as a nation. Lively African rhythms and beautiful Cuban melo- dies, as well as music in both official languages, should not come as a surprise. The eclectic mix of Cana- dian and world music, tradi- tional and contemporary, is a representative of the mix- tures of cultures in which Canada is made of and is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what comes next! Do expect to hear soloists and groups from the choir highlighted in our celebration of Canada and the world.
