With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, and saw him slowly fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. He was born on June 2, 1954 in Goderioh1 the late Phyllis (Peach) and Albert Wain. Survived by his beloved wife Doreen of 60 years, daughter Karen O'Brien (Paul), Claire Reynolds (Mike). Beloved Grandad of Keara and James O'Brien, Megan and Dean Reynolds. Brother of Eleanor (George) Main, Josephine (Chris) Proszowski. Loving Uncle of Ann Craven (Alan), Ellen Harris (Simon), Patricia Hyde (Eddie), Francis Ryan (Paul), Colleen Main, Gillian(Craig) Walker, Adrian and Amy Proszowski, and families. Also will be missed by his Irish cousins and their faplilies. Predeceased by parents, James and Josephine Doherty, —sister Mary Kerr and brother-in-law Jim Kerr. Jim grew up in England and Ireland, emigrated to Canada with his wife and family in 1968,. residing in London until 1976. The family then moved to Goderich where Jim was employed'by Champion Road Machinery as an Overseas Service Manager until 1987, making many friends and acquaintances along the way in many different countries. Jim had a keen interest in many sports including rugby, tennis and soccer, being a longtime supporter of Tottenham Hotspurs, he was also an avid golfer. Family always came first for Jim, he was especially proud of his grandchildren, and will be sadly missed. He loved people, was a very sociable man who was always eager to have a good conversation, and share a laugh. Family and friends were received at St. Peters Catholic Church, at 156 North St., Goderich on Saturday, January 14th from 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 10:00 AM, a Celebration of Jim's Life followed in the basement of the church. As per Jim's wishes he was cremated and a Spring interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jim would be gratefully appreciated in lieu of flowers to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, Alzheimer Society, and Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. He was 78. Born in Woodstock on July 26, 1938, son of the late George and Jessie (Haley) Whitehead. Bob was a Secondary School Teacher at JDSS from 1962 to 1994 until retiring. Survived by wife Mary Nesbit of Goderich, son Mike (Julie) Whitehead of Hanover, daughter-in-law Tanya Whitehead of Dominican Republic, grandchildren Spencer and Sarah Whitehead. Also survived by brother Charlie (Jan) Whitehead of. Daytona Beach, Florida. Prede- ceased by 1st wife Barbara (Hoffarth) Whitehead, sons Anthony and Thorr)as and sister Georgina Whitehead. A Memorial Visitation was held at MIGHTON FUNERAL HOME, HANOVER, on Satur- day, January 14, 2017 from 1-4 pm.
