Menno Miller has 22
horses, a number of pigs and
five turkeys. Lots of chores to
be done everyday.
The Maitland and Nine
Mile Rivers are now closed to
trout and salrnon fishing.
They will re -open the fourth
Saturday in April.
Christmas and New
Year's are over for another
year. Joan took down all our
outside lights on Dec. 30.
Shortly after I noticed that
many of our neighbours
were also shutting theirs
off. There is still no news of
the winner of the Dungan-
non Christmas lights con-
test. The Auburn Lions
Club give prizes of S50 for
first place, $30 for second
and $20 for third, so 1 have
been told. Dungannon
gives one $50.
1 noticed Jake and Brett
Alton are out playing street
hockey in their laneway.
Very cold and windy today.,
We haven't had much
snow for the last month so
.our snow removal man,
Ralph Nivens, has had a real
holiday.

It would be nice if we had
a restaurant and general
store in the village. When we
had the restaurant, for 2 and
1/2 years I went almost every
morning for breakfast and to
visit with the neighbours. A
store would be great so we
wouldn't have to go to town
for everything. Sure do miss
Dawson's.
The weather report sys we
are in for some rain on the
10th and 11th. Not good for
the snowmobile trails.
