The ninth annual Dash for Diabetes came to Goderich
Saturday, July 2, with -about 50 participants running the
eight -kilometer loop. '['he Daraises money for children
with Diabetes as -v well as for research into the disease.

DUCHARME MEMORIAL
The Ray l_)uc'harme Memorial
tournathent brought 16 peewee
baseball teams out to Goderich July
15-17. 201 1 marked the 15th year of
the tournament, and though .Goderich
didn't field a team. (MB parent
volunteers helped keep the weekend
running smoothly. In the Maitland
Division it was Kingsville over Exeter,
17-6..:ln the Huron Division. Stratford
took Chatham Major 10-2.
HOLE IN ,ONE
Young golfer John Bedour shot are,.
incredible 227 -yard -hole in oneon
7 at Maitland Country Club. The 16
yearold Bedour used a three wood for
the shot, Dad Dave Bedour also aced
the seventh at Maitland, making the
eagle a family tradition.
FASTBALIL
The Colborne Bantam-fasthail team
brought home the gold hardware
from the fourth annual Mount Forest
Fastball tournament July 15:17. The
boys played a rematch against a tough
Cape.Croker team in the final to take
the win. In round-robin play, they
toed 2-2.
U10 BRONZE.
The Goderich U10 #2 soccer team
captured' bronze at their year-end
tournament. In semi-finals it took eight
shooters per team before St. Columban
took the win and sent Goderich to the
bronze medal round. In regular ular season
the U 1Os were undefeated )0-0.

TRIPLE TRIATHLETE
Mark Linseman of Sarnia once again
placed first at the Goderich Triathlon.
Linseman beat the course record by
two and a half minutes, with a time
of 1:55.57. This was the 20th year
for the race, which raises money for
GILL.
SLO-PITCH
The Don Johnston Memorial. slo-
pitch tournament saw the Goderich
Brewers take.the men's A final while
in the ladies' play another local team,
the Goderich :Oldti niers, took the 13
division over the Park House Babes.
MAITLANDTURNS 90
The Maitland Country. Club's 90th
•anniversary celebrations were cut a
bit short this year, falling- on August
21. Golfers were pelted with hail as
the tornado passed the:valley and"
headed for downtown. The club
opened July 6, 1`921.
