MOTOWN GOLD
• The Goderich Bantam Reps got
some international experience with a
gold medal win at the Motown Cup
tournament in Detroit, Michigan
March 25-27.
LOWER LAKES CHAMPS
The Bantam Sailorettes won
gold in the Lower Lakes Female
Hockey Association championships
in Oshawa April 3 with a narrow 1-0
win over Peterborough in the final. The
girls then moved on to the provincials
in Toronto April 8-10.

At WOSSAA badminton, the senior
doubles pairing of Jenna Bowler
Cooke and Sierra Lamb took home
the silver medal. Lauren Dietrich
also repeated her Stephen Sturdy
performance with a silver. in Junior
girls singles, while Carson Lamb
took fourth in Junior boys' singles.

The YMCA underwent about

Around the Square, raising money

Fund. While it was a rainy event,
hundreds still came out for the
race - it's first year as an official
racecourse.

WOSSAA BOUND
GDCI sent 12 athletes to WOSSAA
track and field this May, after a solid
showing at Huron -Perth. Danielle
Meriam, Kelly Cooke, Meghan Little,
Alana Scully, Carolyn Scharerer,
Icshon Morris; Aaron Bos, Braden
Adamson, Chad Bissett,, Pat Kioezee,
Jen Shannon and Ed Brunk.
CLOSE CALL
The Goderich Pirates were facing a
short bench and a perpetyal do-or-die
situation in 2011. A meeting was held
May 14 to determine the fate of the
team, with enough support coming out
to ensure another season of Goderich
Pirates hockey.
