LOWER LAKES CHAMPS The Bantam Sailorettes won gold in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey Association championships in Oshawa April 3 with a narrow 1-0 win over Peterborough in the final. The girls then moved on to the provincials in Toronto April 8-10. annual Knights of Columbus Huron County Chess Championships, taking all eight elementary divisions. ATOM POWER On April 27 we reported the Atom Local League Sailors ended their season with a 13 Championship win in the Waterloo Wolves Fun Festiv.i1 April 1-3. St. Mary's School once again dominated the RUN AROUND 350 runners entered this year's Run Around the Square, raising money for the Dave Mounsey_Memorial Fund. CLOSE CALL The Goderich Pirates were facing a short bench and a perpetyal do-or-die situation in 2011. A meeting was held May 14 to determine the fate of the team, with enough support coming out to ensure another season of Goderich Pirates hockey.
