Employment Ontario and the Ministry of
Training, Colleges and Universities has pro-
vided CERC S80,000 in funding over the next
12 months to do just this. The funds will
allow the committee to, provide assistance
as needed
"This is the first step in the recovery of our
workforce. We need to provide assistance to
those most in need. Wehave the expert
resource people such as The Centre for
Employment and Learning, Conestoga Col-
lege and the business community to help us
get our community back to work," stated
CERC Committee Chair Michael Nephew.
"All of Ontario was horrified by the news
of the Goderich tornado and its devastating
impact. I'm very pleased that Employment
Ontario is doing its part to help local leaders
get the town back on its feet and help peo-
ple find the training, education and coun-
seling that will lead to jobs: 1 urge people to
take advantage of these free services when
the centre opens in January," said Glen Mur-
ray, Minister of Training, Colleges and
Universities.
The first step will be to provide a location
where anyone who needs assistance can
come to, The New Vision Centre will be
located at 36 North Street and will be open
in January. The centre will support the
affected workers and their families by pro-

services to help with housing, work,
finances, legal, health and more at the
