Planner Denise VanAmersfoort noted

The campaign also saw the creation
of the Maitland Recreation. Centre,
which opened in January of 2004,
another state of the art facility. Since its
opening it has. exceeded all expecta-
tions and met budget every year, Grace
added.
The $5.7 million campaign relied on
local donors to meet its fundraising
"When you drill It down and look at a
community our size," Grace said. "To be
able to have the ability to have both
those facilities. I think that's cause for
celebration in our whole community."
The final payments were made
November 25 - $59,087.53 for the library
and $781,875.84 for the MRC.

Foresters and Benmiller Inn made cash donations to local groups whose work
to prevent child abuse and to make children's lives better. Each group received
r $750 to help with their programmes. Those present at the Forester Christmas
