The Goderich 'B' Midget Sailorettes
took a big win at a hockey
tournament in Stratford over the
November 27 weekend, taking
the home team Stratford Aces in
a close -fought 2-1 win. The win
puts a feather in the cap of the
Sailorettes team, who played up a
division in the 'BB' tournament.
Goderich started the game with a
4-0 loss to the Aces before bouncing
back 2-0 over the Mississauga
Chiefs in a 2-0 shutout. A 0-0 tie
against Mount Brydges left the
Sailorettes tied for points and goals
for and against. The final slot was
determined by penalty minutes.
The Sailorettes took on Waterloo
at home this past Sunday, with the
Ravens jumping out to an early 2-0
lead in the first. However, Goderich
hung on and with the extra attacker
late in the third, made the game
2-1 off a Shannen Murray goal. The
clock ran out before the Sailorettes
could capitalize again.
