The team played well with victories over Kincardine, Petrolia in the early rounds, setting up a rematch of last year's final against Sarnia CITS in the championship game. In the final, after being down by as much as 15 points in the first half, the Vikings fought back to within three points late in the game. With less then a minute to go Mitchell Clarke sunk a three -pointer to tie the game and send it to overtime. In overtime, the Vikings quickly jumped out to a four point lead, before Sarnia tied it up late. With only five seconds left, Ethan Hamilton was fouled and made one of two foul shots to seal the victory by one point as the boys won 44-43. Fraser, who grew up in the Goderich Minor Hockey system, and also spent time with the Huron Perth Lakers, has moved up to the Stratford Minor Midget Warriors AA team. Fraser made the decision after a new Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMI HA) rule was passed allowing play- ers to try out for higher c"ntres. 'Ihe result is the best hockey he's ever played. A scoring leader and assistant captain on the Warriors, the Grade 10 student at GDCI is on the road about five times a week. However, it's all a stepping stone to what he hopes to be a career in the sport. Dad Martin Fraser, who accom- panies Luke on the road, said this level of hockey will hopefully give the Goderich skater the exposure he needs. Ilis season record so far is 12 goals, 13 assists in 2,8 games. In the off time, Luke also takes part in dry -land training run by Bryan O'Reilly, father of the NIIL's Cal and Ryan O'Reilly.
