Rick Marchand and family have been

her a spot in a national campaign promot
nen and hunting.
"peculiar story", Kelly said, but a search
nsorship at Hunt Fest in Orangeville led
to meet Chef Maribel, famous for her
Food Diva cooking school. Maribel

talked to them, exchanged cards and
got rolling," Kelly said. "Ever since there
en a pretty strong partnership between
lust Us Hunting and I am an Omivore.
Part of the omnivore campaign is promoting
game meat as a healthy source of food for the
table. However, the bigger spotlight, is getting
women interested in hunting, and encouraging
the sport not as a means to get a trophy buck, but
to put organic, inexpensive food on the table.
A lot of the public view of hunters is that we're
going for sport," Marchand said. "It's not about
getting that 12 -point buck. it's about getting food
for the dinner table"
An International Business student at Carlton
University in Ottawa, Kelly knows first-hand the
benefits of a full freezer being away at school.
Many friends that wouldn't have otherwise con-
sidered hunting thought again after tasting the
goods.
Growing up around hunters, Kelly said hunt-
ing is not just a hobby - it's a lifestyle choice.
While she said her own cooking skills are
about par, Just Us Hunting regularly supplies the
Food Diva with meat for the show.
Kelly notes there are two things needed to be a
good hunter - one, an open mind and two, being
very, very quiet.
