Robert (Bob) On Wednesday evening, November 16, 2011, quietly in his sleep a gentle, loving and faithful father, husband and friend passed from this life into God's loving embrace. Bob. Dunbar's ever present caring optimism and excitement for all the little adventures life holds will be sorely missed by his two sons Don (of Hamilton) and Tom: (minister of Victoria St and Benmiller United Churches), his daughter in laws, Deb and -Kathleen, and his five grandchildren Nicole, . Peter, Jessica, Emily and Cameron; Upon the passing of his beloved wife .Myrtle of 57 years he moved to Huron County and came to deeply care for all the beauty of.this area and the people who call this home.. An avid :and.: skilled bridge player he made many friends at the Menesetung Canoe Club, .Goderich Legion, McKay Centre and at the place where he hung his ever present ball. cap, Goderich Place. Of great personal pride were his continually perfect scores on his driver's tests which enabled him to continue to pursue his love of exploring. back country roads of Huron and Perth --Counties right up until the day before he entered the hospital early in November. Nothing however,. could compare to the love and pride he took in his family especially his grandchildren. He was immensely proud of each of them and would talk with any and all about their accomplishments and milestones in, life. A better, more patient, kind • and loving husband, father, father in law and grandfather none could ask for. Born in New Glasgow Nova Scotia, raised in Buffalo N.Y. during the depression, Bob served in both the Canadian Army and then Air Force during the Second World War where he suffered severe hearing damage which plagued him for life. Most of his working career was spent at Stelco in Hamilton from which he retired in 1982 after 35 years of service. Golf was a favourite past time well into his seventies but always family came first and foremost. He was and continues to be an inspiration on how to live a life of deep faith and love following the path laid out before us all as Christians. A loyal church member and elder in his younger days he always took time to give thanks for all this life has to offer. Even in his darkest moments he knew he was never alone. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday November 30th at 2 pm at Benmiller United Church. All are invited.
