The Vikings had a strong season with a 22-8 record, which was good for third hind Stratford Northwestern and FE Madill. They hemselves matched up against Exeter for the first f playoffs. Huron put up a good fight but were no match for ngs, who won the match 3 sets to 1. The semi-final ook place later in the day and GDCI was matched Northwestern, the second ranked team. The fired on all cylinders and came out ahead, winning ch 3 sets to 1. Next up was defending Huron Perth ons, FE Madill, the first ranked team who had only e sets all season. The Vikes stormed into Wingham prised the defending Huron Perth Champs by a thrilling first set. Ikea capitalized on the shocked FE Mustangs and second set as well. After dropping the 3rd set the ce again played with guts and determination and e first ranked team for Huron Perth Gold. 'DCI Vikings were off to WOSSAA regional finals. vember 18th , the Vikings traveled to Dorchester to e in WOSSAA regional finals where they would be (1 against first and second ranked teams from and surrounding area ikings showed up ready to play. Our first match of proved to be a challenge against a highly skilled in Central Elgin. We took the first set 30-28 after a ght battle and a serious injury to our captain and Cody Milian. Mitch Clarke was able to step up and 11 for a few key points. gond set was another battle and the Vikings ended g it with a score of 25-23. After dropping the third kes bounced back and took another close 4th set nning the match. Chad Kernighan had exceptional e middle posidon and threw in the odd greasy tip. sdale had some excellent kills throughout match ell. Thylor Helesic did and excellent job of making all day. Their gold medal match found them up against a scrappy Woodstock team. Goderich took the first set 25-22 after starting with a 1-7 deficit. Woodstock played tough and took the second set 25-21. Then the floodgates opened. Your Vikings dominated the third set 25-16 and won the gold medal in the fourth set 25-15. DJ Stevenson had huge contributions with his 'fast dougies.' Harry Parsons was able to make excellent passes while 'tickling the r Cody Milian played through injury and had dominate kills and key blocks. A key factor to our success is that Woodstock and Central didn't have an answer for Ethan Hamilton, who racked up more kills through the tournament than any other player. The Vikings played like a well oiled machine and made a statement throughout the volleyball world.
