after, the Capitals tied it up on an odd bounce. Lamb put the Sail-
ors back on top five minutes later 2-1.1Nvo quick Walkerton galls
put the Capitals in the lead 3-2 heading into the second period.
Shortly after the face-offs the Caps scored yet again to put
them ahead 4-2. Sailor Steve De Jager reduced the gap by scoring
at 11:29 of the second, but Walkerton persevered until they net-
ted another, to recapture their two goal lead, 5-3 Caps. Godes . h
got their second wind at this point and rallied with awesome
teamwork and precise passes. De Jager got the puck up to Nick
Souch who launched one from the point, 5-4 Caps. Dickson
nailed one to tie things up, assisted by Tyler Johnston and Lang-
lois. Langlois let fly a few seconds later to finally put Goderich
hack in the lead, 6-5. De Jager delIVered once again at 4:18,
putting the Sailors up by two. Souch once again popped one in to
widen the Sailors' lead to 8-5 by the end of the second.
'The game was getting scrappy by the third period and some
hard hits were delivered. Our boys were unfazed and continued
to pressure the opposition, and were rewarded with more goals.
De Jager scored on passes by MacPhee and Chase Kulich, 9-5
Sailors. MacPhee torpedoed one at 8:06 to put the Sailors up by
five, then Souch and De Jager scored two more in quick succes-
sion to make it 12-5. After a frantic scuffle at our net right before
the buzzes one final Capital attempt found its mark, and the final
score was 12-6 for the .Sailors.
