RONA Goderich contributed to the Tornado Disaster Relief fund last
week, with local store owner Murray Leis handing over a cheque for
$12.082 to fundraising committee members Jerry Pelton (right) and
• Ken Dunn (left) of the town's fundraising committee. Leis (centre) was
supported by donations from stores across Ontario and Scott Wilson,
Regional Operations Manager and Lee Harney, Director of Market
Development were on hand for the presentation. Right after the Aug.
21 tornado, 55 RONA employees from nine stores were on site in
Goderich for two days helping clean up the neoghbourhood and yards
around Jeffrey Lumber. On Elgin Avenue. "Everybody pulled together
and it was group effort fore sure," Harney said.

Just in Thyme donation
On Friday, Oct. 21, Thyme on 21 Casual Dining hosted a Gala fundraising Dinner
in support of the Tornado Disaster Relief Fund. Chef Terry Kennedy, 2010 Taste of
Huron Challenge winner, prepared a delicious four -course dinner accompanied by
wine matched to each course by Lori Lupton of Pelee Island Winery. The service
staff donated their time and a portion of tips to raise the donation total to $5,750
from Thyme on 21. Supplier donations helped with the fundraising effort. Duncan
Jewell and Dr. Tom Jasper of the ODRASP committee accepted the donation from
Peter and Catherine King of Thyme on 21 and chef, Kennedy.
