Over in Harbour Park, Parks Superintendent
Martin Quinn is working on a planting plan for
trees in the now -barren park. Coun. Michele
Hansen and Planner Denise VanAmersfoort met
with the major stakeholders in the park - the Lions
Club and Celtic Festival - who are hoping to have
some mature trees put in place in time for next
summer
A consultation is planned for November 12 in
the park, and Hansen said she is hoping for com-
munity and volunteer involvement in both the
planning and planting. After the Nov. 12 meet, she
added, Parks will finalize a plan for the initial
planting only.
VanAmersfoort added the Health Unit and OPP
also have resources for park planning for shade
protection and crime prevention through environ-
mental design.
