The Celebration of First Nations
event took place in venues
across Huron county Saturday
in conjunction with Culture Days
celebrations. One of the main
events of the celebrations was
the exhibition of traditional first
nations dancers and drummers
that took place in Bayfield.
The dance was held indoors
at the Bayfield Town Hall and
incorporated storytelling and
traditional myths into the
ceremony.
Clinton Christian
transforms into
Huron Christian
School
It has been a very busy and exciting
summer at what was formerly the Clin-
ton and District Christian School.
The most noticeable difference is that
the school is now "Huron Christian
School." The new name better reflects
the fact that students come from as far
away as Dungannon and Kirkton, as
well as arottnd Clinton. As part of the
school's continual facility improvement
three classrooms were fully renovated
and modernized. As well, over the sum-
mer a school uniform program was
launched forstudents in all grades. A
fourth bus route had to be added to
facilitate students attending from the
Seaton!) and Brussels areas.
Principal Nick Celeynse notes, ".2012
marks the :50th anniversary of our
school, so all this newness adds to the
excitement of the celebrations. We are
very thankful for all of the growth and
progress. God has blessed us in so many
ways and it's because of His constant
faithfulness and provision that we, have
been able to provide a Christ centred
education for so many years. it's defi-
nitely
eft-
nitely a very exciting time for Huron
Christian School families"
