rafting connections features work of local talent
Over 19 days of workshops
involving about 240 adults,
youth and children culmi-
nated with the celebration
and opening of Crafting Con-
nections art exhibit at the
Goderich public Library
Friday. •
The Crafting Connections
project resulted in Worth
Their Salt, an exhibition of
three collaborative works of
art that included a hooked
rug, a mosaic and felted wool
piece made by 78 community
members.
Karen Meladay and Linda
Wiebe launched thecommu-
nity art works project and
praised the work of
community mentors who
lent their time, talent and
expertise to the creative
project.
"All the mentors are here in
the room at one time and its
fantastic to get their informa-
tion and pass on their exper-
tise,' Meladay said. They are
an elite group of people and
the ripples of what they have
given us will go on. The crea-
tive ability of the community
is manifested in what's here
today!'
The project, made possible
through the funding of a New
Horizons Grant will be on
display at the Goderich
library_ to Oct, 15.
