Now you can add the NHL fraternity tothelist of those willing to help the town in its time of need, Sean O'Brien, formerly of Goderich and now the Team Services Manager for the Calgary Flames of the NHL has con- nected with teams across the league and is forwarding a list of impressive dona- tions, many to be auctioned off this Sat- urday at the Out of the Storm concert to raise money for the Disaster Relief Fund. The son of Mike and Barb O'Brien of Goderich, Sean heard about the devas- tation of the tornado from sister Debbie. and began reaching out to colleagues and friends around the league to donate memorabilia that could be auctioned off to raise needed funds. Helping from a distance with the NHL season approaching meant Sean couldn't make a trip home but he began gathering items to help raise funds for his hometown. He has already shipped hockey items to Goderich, including autographed sticks from Flames stars Jarome Iginla come from that team. One of the prized items offered for auction will be the Team Canada 2010 Olympics autographed stick by signed all players invited to the orientation camp. Chris Pronger of the Philadelphia Fly- ers has forwarded -an autographed stick as has Edmonton Oilers young star Jor- dan Eberle. The members of the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins have offered a jerseysinged by all members of the cup - winning team and jerseys are also com- ing from :former Toronto Maple Leaf Darcy Tucker and Chicago Blackhawks captain, Jonathon Toews. 'them are also a number of signed photos, hats and pucks available from players around the league. Other donations that will appeal to the music fans at the concert inelude.an autographed Pearl Jam poster from their Sept. 21 show in Calgary, an auto- graphed Brad Paisley cowboy hat, two Wilderness prints by photographer John E Marriott and a Fender Stratocaster guitar. Donations haVe also been confirmed from 13 HHL teams including the Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Anaheim, Washington, Colorado, Tampa Ray and others. Wayne.
