The Goderich Pirates hosted an
exhibition game Friday September 23rd,
at the YMCA against the Lucan-Ilderton
Jets. The Game got off to a rocky start
with Lucan being up 3-0 after the first
period, and while Goderich gained some
momentum in the second and scored
a few goals, the physical Lucan team
didn't stop coming and eventually beat
the Pirates 11-4.
Goalie Ryan Shelton dives onto a loose
puck to cover up as a Lucan opponent
rushes in to try for a shot.

Thursday aftemoon was no walk in the park for many, as area public schools held
a cross country meet at the Menesetung Bridge and the trails beyond. Competitors
ran distances of up to two kilometers up hills, through trails, and back over the
bridge to complete the grueling course.
With water bottle in hand to ward off possible dehydration, a runner in one of the
younger grades of the meet gets ahead of his competition right off the bat.
