Project Location: The Project is being proposed for the Township of Ashfield-Colbome-Wawanosh, in the County of Huron, Ontario (see map). The general Project area would be located in the area bounded by Blyth Road to the south, Bruce County Road 86 to the north, Bluewater Highway 21 to the west and Saratoga Line/Lucknow Line to the east. K2 Wind Ontario Inc. in its capacity as General Partner, for and on behalf of K2 Wind Ontario LP (together the "Proponent") is planning to develop, construct and operate a wind energy project (formerly referred to as the Kingsbridge 0 Wind Power Project) in respect of which the issuance of a Renewable Energy Approval (REA) is required. The Proponent is a partnership among Capital Power LP, Samsung Renewable Energy Inc., and Pattern Renewable Holdings Canada ULC. The distribution of this Notice of Draft Site Plan and the Project itself are subject to the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act of Ontario (Act) Part V.0.1 and Ontario Regulation 359/09 (Regulation). This notice is being distributed in accordance with section 54.1 of the Regulation prior to an application being submitted and assessed for completeness by the Ministry of the Environment. In accordance with the Regulation, this Draft Site Plan is required to take into consideration all existing residences and other known noise receptors (as defined by the Regulation) one (1) day prior to the first date of publication of this Notice. Pursuant to section 54(1.2) of the Regulation, K2 Wind Ontario will not be required to take into account residences and other noise receptors (as defined by the Regulation) that did not exist on September 20'", 2011. Project Description: Pursuant to the Act and Regulation, the Project is considered to be a Class 4 wind facility. If approved, the Project would have a total maximum name plate capacity of approximately 270 megawatts (MW). The Project would include up to 142 wind turbines located on privately owned leased lands, and would include a switchyard/substation, a transformer station, up to 3 meteorological towers, an electrical collector system made up of collector lines from turbines and a transmission line from the transformer station to the switchyard/substation (the "collector system") and other ancillary facilities such as turbine access roads and temporary construction areas. The proposed layout considers up to 142 potential turbine sites and 4 potential meteorological tower locations. Final selection would be based on the results of consultations, detailed design and engineering work, and conditions experienced during construction. The Draft Site Plan which was published on April 13, 2011 for the Project has been revised based on using Siemens SWT -2.3-101 turbine technology Documents for Public inspection: The Draft Project Description Report titled Kingsbridge 11 Wind Power Project Description Report, February, 2010 was first made available for public review on February 3, 2010. The updated Draft Project Description Report titled Kingsbridge II Wind Power Project Description Report, June, 2010 has been made available for review at the Ashfield-Colbome-Wawanosh Township Office (82133 Council Line.
