mittee is approving most applications
as -is, and Morrison said the biggest setback is a
lack of applications and incompleted paperwork.
Forms for both permits are available through the
building department at Town Hall.
An advertisement in this week's Signal -Star
notes the wait tunes for permits are longer on
paper than in reality. The completed applications
presented at Heritage Tuesday, September 20
were all approved without restrictions and sent
for council's final approval at their Sept. 26
meeting.
However, one person's demolition or recon-
struction can seriously affect their neighbours'
properties.
In the case of the downtown heritage district,
architects reports are required due to the adjoin-
ing nature of most of the downtown core. Herit-
age member Ken Crawford said entire blocks
should be involved in rebuilding and demolition
rather than isolated applications.
"Once we talk about one building on the block
we've got to do the whole thing," he said about
the stretch from Burger Bar on Kingston to the
Bank of Montreal on East. "Let's get the whole
block together and go from one end to the other"
The comnnittee was hoping to meet with mem-
bers of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario
over the weekend to examine the Square's most
affected blocks and offer a complete analysis on
what could stay and what must go.

"My Main focus is enhancing the good
services already being delivered out theme" he
said. "The goal at the end of the day is to
deliver the best policing possible to all citi-
