Locally, the election debates have
centered on industrial wind turbines,
agriculture, education, jail closures
and the economy.
In the last provincial election, in
October 2007, Mitchell retained the
seat she first won in 2003, easily defeat-
ing PC candidate Rob Morley 20,461 to
13,566. In that election, the Liberals
took 71 seats to form a majority gov-
ernment while the PCs won in 26 rid-
ings and the NDP won 10 seats.
Advance polls are open until Sept.
30 from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. and in
Goderich area the advance poll is
located at the Mackay Centre on Nel-
son Street.
On voting day, Thursday, Oct. 6,
polls will be open from 9a.m. to9p.m.
and by now voters should have
received a Notice of Registration Card
(NRC) in the snail indicating your
information is on the voters list. It con-
tains voting location for election day
and a list of advanced polls.

local returning office in Wingham at

You can still get a ballot on election
day by showing one piece of ID that
has your name and residential

For those that can't vote on election
day, advance polls are open over a ten-
day period or voters can vote by spe-
cial ballot in person or by mail starting
28 days before the election. A special
ballot application must be downloaded
from the website or picked up at the
local returning office.
Students living away from home can
determine which is their principal res-
idence as long as they have ID showing
their name and address within that
electoral district.

length and the last session is three
hours.
The series ,begins Thusday, Oct. 4
and every Tuesday up to and including
Oct. 25.

emotions that are common in
caregiving.

A Tradition of Results

Goderich Tornado Clean-up Hub group will be holding a
community meeting at the East Street Station on Thursday.
Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.
