The Huron -Bruce NDP are dedicating this election to their federal leader Jack Layton, who lost his battle with cancer on August 22. He's taking Jack's message to heart with his team looking to build a better province by looking after each other better. Robertson showed up in Goderich to volunteer to help dean -up shortly after hearing the news. While he registered his shock in the destruction, he also was buoyed by those small town values demon- strated when neighbours helping neighbours clear up storm damaged property. The last of the four main parties in Ontario, the Green Party, under the new leadership of Mike Schreiner, are represented in Huron -Bruce by teacher singer, songwriter Patrick Main. Main is passionate about building a strong, optimistic com- munity, supporting local independent business and learning how to be intelligent consumers. The Greens are looking to build on the elected success of their federal leader Elizabeth May, but are also looking to those rid- ings where they came second in the last provincial election to come out on top this time. Mid August election predication polls show Huron -Bruce as being too close to call. The results of this provincial campaign in my opinion will come down to whether or not our thirst for change is as strong as it once was, or, has the F3 aftermath left us humbled and tired of the fight that comes with election campaigns? I'm quite tired of political posturing and campaigns. While I'm not suffering from voter burnout yet, I'm pretty darn dose to it. aittettt Bakery and cPegtatotatit HERE AT BARTLIFF'S We care On Mon. The F3 tornado struck the community less than an hour after the official dose of the Sunday Flea Market at 3 p.m. The markets were temporarily suspended the following weekend, August 27 and 28 before reestab- lishing lust off The Square.
