popular Sunday flea market was back in operation on
long holiday weekend on the former Rob Evans GM lot
Kingston Street. The market missed only one week of
ration before returning to set up in the vacant lot. The
rket was well attended.

PROPOSED ZONING: BY-LAW AMENDMENT
AFFECTING THE TOWN OF GODERICH
TAKE NOTiCE that the. Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Goderich will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 5, 2011
at 4:OOp.m. in the Goderich Town Council Chambers to consider a
proposed zoning amendment under: Section 34 of the Planning Act.
BE ADVISED that the Clerk of the Corporation of' the Town of Goder-
ich considered this application to be complete on September 8,1011.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written
or verbal representation either in support of or in oppositionto the
proposed amendment:
ONLY individuals, corporations and publicbodies may appeal a by-law
to the Ontario Municipal Board. A notice of appeal may not be filed by
an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal
may be filed in the name of an individual. who is a member of the as-
sociation or group on its behalf.
NO PERSON or public body shall be idded as a party to the hearingof
an appeal unless, before the by-law passed, the person or public body
made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submi•aon% to
the Council or. in the opinion of the Ontario Municipal Board, there arc
reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

PURPOSE AND EF'F'ECT: .
This 13y -law facilitates the reconst ucticin and replacement of uses,
buildings and structures damaged or destroyed:by the Goderich tornado
of August 21.2011.
Buildings and structures that predated the 1985 zoning by-law and did
not comply with the yards, setbacks, etc. of the Zoning By-law (i.e.,
non -complying buildings). and were damaged or destroyed by the
turrrudu, may bc rebuilt or replaced using the same deficient yards and
etbacks, etc. The replacement building or structure must not extend
beyond the limits of the lot. Replacement buildings in the Core Com-
mercial (C4) zone are required to have a minimum of 2 storeys.
Uses. buildings and t tt+uctures that predated the 1985 Zoning By -lass
and were not permitted in the zone in which they were.locatcd (i.c., non-
conforming uses), and were damaged or destroyed by the tornado, .may
be re-established. rebuilt and/or replaced. Thc replacement building or
structure must not extend beyond the limits of the lot. Such uses arc
pernuttcd to alter the building sire and setbacks, etc. by not more than
2U te,g., 20% reduction in setback, or 2Q% increase in floor arca) to
provide some flexibility for rebuilding.
Dwellings located in a non-residential zone may bc reconstructed 01
replaced in place or in acconlancc with the relevant residential zone
requirements.
This by-law amends Zoning By-law 38-1985 of the Town of (Wench.
This by-law applies to all lands in the Town of Ooderich.
