Ts of the GFD, who have worked
over the past two weeks in dealing
rgency situations, were out on the
lane highway for several hours in
i u midity, collecting funds for those
need help to rebuild their lives in
of the destruction of the Aug. 21
M
tornado.
The Goderich Tornado Disaster Relief fun-
draising effort, conducted in conjunction
with the Goderich Lions Club, raised about
$20,000 in a few hours.
Lions Club members were busy as well,
collecting donations at various store loca-
tions around town that netted another $6,000
that the club will use to help handicapped
and disadvantaged individuals in the com-
munity affected by the tornado.
People gave us $100
bilis and $50s and we've
never seen those kinds
of donations before. It's
just amazing. A lady came
out of her house and gave
us a cheque for $ 300."
