SNELL
We would like to thank all our family and
friends for the cards, donations, flowers,
food and helping us get through this very
difficult time. Thank you to all the people
who could make it to the Clinton Legion 140
on Saturday August 27 to celebrate Johns
life. John would have been happy to see so
many people remembering all the good
times. Thank you to the Clinton Legion for
use of the Legion for this "celebration of life"
and to Frank Slater for the sound system.
The Snells & Families
FERGUSON & LUITING
From an event that nobody wants to re-
member, came something to never forget;
The endless support, hard work, friendship
and kindness received at a moment's notice
from family, friends, neighbours, co-workers
and strangers was amazing and really put
things into perspective. Houses can be re-
built, things can be replaced, but the
outpouring of kindness that was there when
it was needed most is priceless. To every-
one that helped us at 87 St. Patrick Street
in the aftermath of the storm, Thank You,
we will never forget it. Nathan Ferguson &
Travis Luiting

Blyth Festival Presents
Award -Winning Canadian
Play About WWII Veteran
OMI Agency
For the second year in a roti, tht' Blyth Festival is proud to
present Jake's (;ift by Julia Mackey - a multi award-winning
Canadian play about a World kVar 11 veteran's journey back to
Juno Beach for the Goth anniversary of D -Day.
Audiences last year were so moved by the production that
the Blyth Festival felt compelled to bring Jake's Gift back for
those that missed it last year as well as those that wish to see
it again. "1 brought three teenagers to see Jake's Gift and the
performance crossed the generations extremely well", said
audience member Jane Antoniak of London, Ontario, "All of
us truly felt the impact of the message."
During the play, cantankerous Jake meets Isabelle, a pre-
cocious 10 -year old from the local village, whose inquisitive
nature and charm challenge the old veteran to confront some
long ignored ghosts.
Jake's Gift was created after writer and performer Julia
Mackey travelled to Normandy, France in June 2004 for the
60th Anniversary Ceremonies of D -Day. She spent eight days
touring the Normandy coast, attending many of the ceremo-
nies and interviewing Canadian, British and American veter-
ans, as well as the local French people.
•Jake's Gift will take place on Thursday, September 8 at 8
p.m. at Blyth Memorial Hall. Tickets are $30, available at
www:blythfestival.com or by calling I -877-862-5984. Prior to
the performance there will be a country supper for $15 Siin the
lower Hall at 6 p.m.
For more information on Jake's Gift, or other Blyth Festival
events, visit www.blythfestival.com or call I-877-862-5984.
