Despite police presence,
Impaired driver nabbed
at road block
(GODERICH, ON) — At approximately 8:30
p.m. on August 24, 2011, a Huron OPP officer
conducted a traffic stop on Suncoast Drive
in Godench. Upon speaking to the driver
the officer observed him to be under the
influence of alcohol. He was subsequently
arrested and transported to the Goderich
detachment to meet with a qualified
Intoxilizer Technician in order to provide two
samples of his breath. .
The results of the two tests confirmed
that the driver hada blood alcohol level that
was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams of
alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, a 68 -year-
old man from Central Huron has been
charged with one count of Drive With Over
80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He will answer to
his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice —
Goderich on October 24, 2011. His driver's
licence has been suspended for 90 days as
per statute.
Break and enter at
conservation area
(NORTH- HURON, ON) The Huron
County.Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are
investigating a break and enter that occurred
sometime in between August 19, 2011 and
August 24, 2011 from the East Wawanosh
Conservation Area located on Nature Center
Road in North Huron. Unknown person(s)
forced their way into the conversation area
and stole two backpacks, an Internet turbo
modem and a set of walkie- talkies. Gas was
also siphoned from a tractor located inside.
