Despite the driving rain, over 80
members of .the Model A Owners
Association of Canada returned to
Goderich Saturday for a 25th
anniversary dinner at Maitland
Country Club that featured six
couples who had toured the Bay-
field -Goderich area on the Asso-
ciation's first tour in 1986.
"We've got 85 people and 40
cars on tour In the Goderich area
this weekend," John Wyld of the
association said. "Twenty-five
years ago we organized our first
tour to Bayfield and Goderich and
decided to return to the are on the
25th anniversary of the tour."
The group arrived in Goderich
Friday traveling back roads from
Orangeville as a group. The vehi-
cles, all vintage Ford Model As
from the 1928-31 era, travel at
speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.
Most of the group's tours in South-
western Ontario involve several
hours of travel time to reach the
destination.
After taking in the popular local
custom of piping down the sun
with the Celtic blue Highlander
Pipe Band at the town's waterfront
Friday evening, the group traveled
to Blyth Saturday on a shopping
excursion and many visitors
visited the Huron County Pioneer
Museum and Historic Gaol.
Early Sunday morning, after a
briefing on the route the day's
tour would take, the. vintage
vehicles filed out of the parking
lot Samuels Hotel the group made
its way up Saltford hill and headed
for home via Palmerston.

The Council of the Town of Goderich will be
holding a public meeting to acquire input from the
ublic concerning the establishment of a permanent
Dog Park.
