"I think it's important to
let our service men and
women know how much we
appreciate what they do for
us here and overseas; said
Irwin. "A lot of the times we
hear stories in the news
about soldiers who have died
overseas and with this we
wanted to, in our small way
give them something to show
our appreciation of the sacri-
fices they make."
The line-up and date for
the third annual Music. in the
Fields summer festival .tak-
ing place in Lucknow is on
its way. The one -day music
festival, organized by the
local Kinsmen Club, will take
place on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The performers will be Blake Shelton,
Lonestar, Jason McCoy, Jaydee Bixby,
Victoria Banks, Dry County and
Snakebite.
For Irwin .and the rest of the Music In.
the Fields committee, they have been
hard at work for close to a year planning
and organizing an event that will see
Shelton headline this year's concert.
Irwin said that everything is going
according to plan and assures people
that the weather will be great for the last
weekend in August.
"Everything is going well and I think
we lucked out this year by getting one
of the highest ticket draws in North
America with Blake Shelton; said Irwin.
"The rest of our lineup is really solid as
well. We think we. have put together a
really good show and a show I don't
think would be possible to be seen
without the work of the Kinsmen and
the support of the community."
Irwin said the vendors are all in place
and the camping is doing well. He said
there are just over 200 registered camp-
ers to date and said tickets sales are also
doing really well.
With the new Ontario liquor laws
allowing the possibility for people to
carry their alcoholic beverages around
festival grounds, the Music in the Fields
committee have decided to keep alco-
holic beverages contained to .a desig-
nated location.
"If people want to enjoy an alcoholic
beverage they can go to the beer tent
and if they choose not to do that then
they can be out on the grounds with
their families," said Irwin.
