It is hoped that at least 60 pieces of original art can be created. This work will include a variety of 'pond hockey art; images of famous players -- including action portraits of NHL locals Larry Jeffrey, Paul Henderson, and Gary Doak - highlights in NHL and Inter- national Hockey, and related themes. Works created to date promise that the complete emotion will offer a valuable and unique art acquisition opportunity for those in attendance. The majority share of pro- ceeds will support the Junior 'C' team. A small balance will returned to the participating art groups to help fund their favorite art outreach programs or a local charity of choice; and, in the case of Elizabeth's Art Gallery, the local Kids Booster Club program, which allows underprivileged youngsters to have access to arts & sports programs. Event sponsors include media hosts: 104.9 The Beach, Goderich Print Shop, Goderich Signal -Star; and local restaurateurs: the Blue water Restaurant, Boston Pizza, Crabby Joe's, Paddy O'Neil's, the Park House, and West Street Willy's Eatery. In exchange for a $100 con- tribution, a couple will receive one piece of original local hockey art, with a retail value of up to $300 or more. `rackets are $75 single, $100 per cou- ple, (or $150 for two pieces of art); and include admission to the event, refreshments and entertainment - autographs from players and special guests to boot! Hockey art to be included in gala event is on display at the Gallery and the Maitland Recreation Centre for the duration of the Sailors training camp.
