"I Just want people to get to know Logan before they judge him." The six -minute film was framed in a particular way, Brodie says, beginning with the things that Logan can't do in order for viewers to understand him and how he functions. Although he is 15 -years -old, Logan has the features of a 12 -year-old, Brodie says in the film, and thinks like a seven-year-old. He probably won't ever learn to read or count to 10. He's outspoken, Brodie goes on to say, usually saying everything he thinks of out loud. On the other hand, his limitations • have taught his family to be patient and try not to sweat the small stuff. "Suddenly it doesn't botheryou any- more that the dishes aren't done and the laundry isn't folded," said Christine Cairns, the boys' mother. Brodie is eyeing Brock Uni- versity in 2012 either to become a teacher or study video and editing, which will mark a big change because he'll be living away from his brother. What will he miss most about Logan? "Probably just him," he says. "It'll be different not having him beside me." What he looks forward to, though, is the same as any other big brother. "The quietness will be a nice change," he deadpanned. According to Christine, that's the great thing about her boys' relationship. They're real with each other; one minute they're annoyed, and the next they're listening to music together or playing video games. She's proud some of the attention is cur- rently on her first-born. 'A lot of focus over the last 15 years has been on Logan. All of his accomplishments are celebrated," she said. "Brodie's always kind of in the background, so it's nice for him to have his moment."
