AVN canoe , a Wednesday, August 10, 2011 • Signal -Star 33 Obituaries Obituaries GLAZIER, Wayne Norman - Peacefully in his sleep, on Aug. 3, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle. Wayne Norman Glazier of Goderich aged 65 .;years, born on August 24, 1945. Beloved husband and best friend of Sharilyn Glazier (nee Currey). Loving father of Kristin (Murray) Workman of R. R. #3, Kippen and Joel Glazier of Goderich. Proud and adoring Grandpa of Dean and Kate Workman. Dean and Kate were the light of Wayne's life. Lovingly remembered by brother Ronald (Mae) Glazier of Goderich, sister Pauline Gibb of London, sisters Joyce (Elmer) Gamache of Godench, and Anita (Ron) Purdon of Mitchell, and sister in law Sharon Glazier of Stratford, and sister in law Marlene (Dan) Burbine. Sadly missed by special family friends, Garth and Ruth Cunningham, Della and John Rodges, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Sarah Jane and Russell Glazier of Goderich, sister Vesta (Rosaire) Desroches of Port Colbourne and brother Gordon of Stratford. Wayne .sailed on the Great Lakes in his latter teenage years and then worked at the Goderich Salt Mine where he retired several years ago. He loved working at the mine and especially later in the Hoist Room surrounded by computers. He was in his element there. - Wayne enjoyed so much the mining life and the people he worked with, it was his second home. We had a special interest in the winter weather reports especially Chicago! He was a jack of all trades and loved cars and tools and could fix- anything. Wayne installed our underground watering system, alt on his own. No small feat but for a (long) while the lawn was constantly dug up while he perfected the layout, leading our young son at the time at one of the many excavations to warn, "Dad, Mum's home" Wayne was passionate • about .cycling many kilometres each day on the Maitland Trail end long walks on the Maitland Trail with Shariyn. He had an adventurous spirit and thoroughly enjoyed safely driving his family on many fun trips to the U.S. and Canada over the years, most of these journeys including a visit to a ballpark. These memories we cherish and will never forget. Crt.nation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 13th, 2011, at 11 a.m. at McCALLUM PALLA FUNERAL HOME, Cambria Rd. at East St., Goderich. Family interment at Maitland Cemetery, followed by a memorial gathering for friends and family at North Street United Church basement from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Wayne's name are asked to consider .the Canadian Cancer Society, London Health Sciences Centre - Cancer Unit, or Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, Ontario.
