The MedQUEST program at the Huron East Health Centre in Seaforth July 4 to 8 gave 25 high
school students from across Huron and Perth in Grades 10 and 11 the opportunity to explore a
variety of healthcare related fields that they may wish to consider pursuing at a post -secondary
level. During the five-day program, the students participated in activities directly related to
specific healthcare professions and have the opportunity to meet with professionals and inquire
about individual occupations. The students also had two half-day job shadows throughout Huron
and Perth Counties where they experienced firsthand healthcare professions uch as dentistry,
nursing, diagnostic imaging, dietician, obstetrics, and more. Students also pled roles in a mock
disaster exercise that provided an excellent learning opportunity for all agencies involved.
