County asks residents to check regulations, current fire bans before open burning Due to the extremely dry hot weather conditions and lack of rain in many areas of Huron County over the past month, the Fire Departments of Huron County strongly urges the public to refrain from doing any open air burning. Huron County Fire Coordinator Marty Bedard says it's important to check with your local fire department for open air burning regulations or current fire bans in plane in your area. "Even while plant life may still appear to be green and some areas have received rain, the moisture content is very low and the ground very dry and it will burn readily. Unau- thorized burns that get out of control could result In unwanted charges to the property owner' To check regulations and bans in Goderich, contact Fire Chief Steve Gardiner at 519-524-7972 WWW.! oderictui1 nalstaricom
