Water quality improvements will include a focused community steward- ship effort within the smaller watershed of Trick's Creek. Improvements to the Trick's Creek Water- shed would ater-shedwould help to enhance water qual- ity in the Bayfield River The grant will also promote wetland enhancement within the broader. Bay- field River Watershed. Other water qual- ity improvements include identification of actions that can reduce E. coli contri- butions from the Bayfield River to beaches. The Nature Conservancy of Canada has published a research document on biodiversity in Lake Huron and ABCA will work with them to try to implement recommendations from this report. Forty years ago, the Province of Ontario, with support of local municipalities, expanded the area of the former Ausable River Conservation Authority to include the Bayfield River Watershed and some smaller streams draining into Lake Huron. Ausable Bayfield Conserva- tion Authority celebrated the 40th anni- versary of this event on July 21., 2011.. The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority Board of Directors also held its monthly meeting in Bayfield on July 21, 2011, at the Bayfield Lions. Community. Building, to honour the board meeting of 40 years ago.
