been good this year; Robinson said. "You have a few stressful
moments, but people have stepped up to the plate. There's a
lot of spirit in a small town."
It's been 18 years since Warren and Eleanor Robinson first
endeavored to stage a celebration of the area's Celtic roots by
way of song and spirit and the first ever Earth, Air, Fire and
Water Celtic Roots Festival in 1992.
It was a modest event then, with a single stage hosting
musical guests from the area and around Ontario. Now,
heading into its 19th year, the festival has become an interna-
tional destination that draws loyal festival lovers from all cor-
ners of the globe.

MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
FOR ESSEX STREET SANITARY SERVICING
NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT
.THE PROJECT:
The Town of Goderich is considering a plan to provide municipal sanitary sewage collection
facilities to properties along a section of Essex Street. As illustrated on the accompanying key
plan, the general study area incorporates a development corndor extending from the southern
hmit of Essex Street to the Elgin Avenue intersection. Completion of this project would provide
municipal sanitary servicing to several properties in this area which are currently serviced by
either individual sewage disposal systems (septic systems) or pnvate sanitary sewers.
At this time, a preliminary servicing plan has been developed for the project area. The key
components of the plan are summarized below.
Prellml atnt Servicing Plan:
- Installation of a collector sanitary sewer within the Essex Street road allowance The
proposed sewer would be designed to accommodate all properties within the defined
service area,
Construction.of a seWage pumping station within Sunset Park to convey flows from the
proposed collector seiner to the municipal sanitary sewage collection system.
ENVSRONMAENTAL SCREENINO PROCESS:
..The planning for this project is following the environmental screening process set out for
Schedule B activities under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA). The
purpose of the Class EA screening process is to identify any potential environmental impacts
sasociated with the proposed works and to plan for appropriate impact mitigation. This process
.in des consultation with the public, stakehokiers and review agencies.
The Class EA screening process is currently at the preliminary stage of project planning.
Following completion of the screening process, this project may be incorporated into the Public
Works long-term capital works schedule The Town has no plans to proceed with the proposed
servicing plan in the immediate future.
