The Walks are the principle fundraiser for ALS Ontario, which receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of .private donors. ALS kills two to three people every day in Can- ada, and every day, two to three people are diag- nosed with ALS. There is no known cause, treat- ment or cure, and 80 per cent of those diagnosed will die within two to five years. The Walk for ALS is celebrating 10 years in Can- ada.
