Bantams play 'best game ever' in Mount Forest tie
On November 29, the Knights of Co-
lumbus Bantam girls traveled to Mount
Forest for a very fast and exciting
hockey game.
The girls haven't been able to beat
the second place Mount Forest team
yet, but skated to a very hard-fought
1-1 tie.
Goderich netminder Lauren German
was hot between the pipes and the en-
tire team had their best game of the
season with Maddie Melady picking up
the lone Goderich goal.
The Sailorettes then had a busy week-
end going 1-1-1.

girls played hard but fell to the Ravens,
2-0. Later that night the girls took on
Tillsonburg which resulted in a very
physical hockey game.
Tillsonburg got on the board first, but
less than a minute later, Sailorette Hai-
ley McIntyre made her way down the
ice to. tie the game up and that's where
the score stayed in the 1-1 tie.
On Sunday night, it was back on
home ice against Woolwich where the
girls skated to a 2-1 victory. Netminder
German continuously robbed the Wild-
cats when she stopped shot after shot
and had some help from a few goal-
posts.
It was almost the end of the sec-
ond period before Sailorette Jessica
Thompson found her mark after taking
a pass from Callie Vance and Jessica
Hastie. Woolwich retaliated with their
own goal a few minutes later, but sheer
determination from McIntyre resulted
in another Goderich goal which proved
to be the game -winner. Assists went to
Samantha and Maddie Melady.
Midget Sailorettes rip into Ripley
The Midget Girls Sailorettes won an
impressive 5-1 victory over Ripley at
Memorial Arena on Sunday night.
In the first period, Michelle Kelly
opened the Sailorettes' scoring with an
impressive shot over the Ripley goalie's
shoulder. Laura Smith and Julia Huber
assisted the goal. Huber with Jessica
Ryan abetted Kelsey Johnston's goal
seconds later.
In the second period, Smith fired
one into the net with help from Kristin
McColl and Johnston. Shayla Mathers
scored the last Goderich goal with de-
termined teamwork from Taylor Prit-
chard and Jessica Ryan.
Laura Smith rounded out the Sailor-
ette's scoring with an assist from Mc-
Coll.
Effective defensive work from Dan-
ielle Bean and Jaden Mitchell helped
goaltender Jessica Yates keep Ripley to
one lone goal.
