The final two motor graders manufactured in Goderich were loaded onto TTK
Transport Inc. flatbeds in the yard behind the former Strongco sales office and
rolled out of town last week destined for Shippensburg, PA. Volvo announced
that it is closing its Asheville, NC plant in March 2010 and moving the cab as-
sembly to Shippensburg. The closing will affect 228 employees at the Asheville
manufacturing facility.
and equipment from the plants is gone,"
he said. "The maintenance and materials
employees will be here until the end of the
year. There will be about 40 to 50 people
finishing their employment by the end of
this year."
Last week the company announced it
will close its Asheville, North Carolina
facility by March
31, 2010 a move
that will affect 228

in South Korea.
"Volvo CE's commitment to the US
market remains strong," Olof Persson,
Volvo Construction Equipment President
and CEO said. " This decision has
no impact on the ongoing significant
investments in Shippensburg, PA where
the Volvo CE plant is being expanded to
receive the motor grader production and
the manufacturing of grader cabs."

We wish you all a great holiday!
