THE DASH
1 read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend,
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth ...
And now only those who love her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own;
The cars ... the house ... the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
Always loved and remembered each day by
daughters Peggy Ann and Marie. —50ar
MOORE
In loving memory of our Mom and Grandma,
Ferre. Moore, who passed away December 12,
2001.
When thoughts go back,
As they often do,
We treasure the memories,
We have of you.
This day is remembered,
And quietly kept,
No words are needed,
For we will not forget.
For deep in our hearts Mom,
You will always stay,
Loved and remembered,
Each and every 'day.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by
your family. —50x
RUSTON
In loving memory of Terry Ruston, a father
and grandfather, who passed away December
9, 2006.
Never more than a thought away,
Quietly remembered every day.
Sadly missed and remembered always, Doug,
Jodie, Kelsey and Dakota. —50x
CHASE
In loving memory of a
dear daughter, sister
and granddaughter,
Krystle, who passed
away December 5,
2005.
We think of you in
silence,
And often speak your
name,
All we have are
memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your name is often spoken,
Our love is with you still,
You haven't been forgotten,
And by us You never will.
Forever in our hearts, Mom, Danielle, Grandma
and Papa Fenner. —50x

CARVER
In loving memory of Shelley, who passed
away December 7, 1988.
Although we smile and make no fuss,
No one misses her more than us,
And when old times we oft recall,
It's then we miss her most of all.
Always remembered by Aunt Joan and family.

MACDONALD
In loving memory of Heather, our
granddaughter, who was taken December 8,
1993, in a car crash.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name,
We have so many memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Our hearts still ache with sadness,
In silence our tears still flow.
Always loved and missed by Grampa and
Gramma and family. —50x
MACDONALD
In loving memory of a precious daughter,
sister and aunt, Heather Lynne MacDonald,
who was taken suddenly from us - killed by a
drunk driver on December 8, 1993.
It has been sixteen very long and challenging
years since that devastating moment you died.
With each challenging season, we are sadly
reminded of all the milestones we should of
had the pleasures of celebrating with you.
And bravely, we do our best to face each
holiday without you beside us.
Your time with us was too brief - you spent
only twenty years on this earth.
But you packed so much into every single
moment and you taught us so much.
With your. legacy of never ending love, we
strive to carry on.
Never forgotten and greatly missed by Dad,
Mom, Kim, Scott, Madison and Brendan Riehl
and John Cameron MacDonald. —50x
ZIEGLER
In memory of a friend and co-worker, Marion
Ziegler, who was suddenly taken from family
and friends - killed by a drunk driver on
December 8, 1993.
Gone from us but leaving memories death can
never take away,
Memories that will always linger while upon
this earth we stay.
Never forgotten and always missed by John,
Linda and John Cameron MacDonald, Kim
and Scott Riehl and family. —50x

Good morning, afternoon and evening.
Pick your pleasure, choose your seat
and have a sit down for our wee visit. I
have a cup of brewed house specialty by
my side - my house that is and a perfect
blend it is too.
First I'd like to clear up a little "grey
area." Yes, I said I was going to start
wishing for snow. No, I don't think that
is cause for some of the threats I've re-
ceived. I simply want my `Currier and
Ives' Christmas and snow is part of that.
Once Christmas is over, we can go back
to cutting the lawn and playing beach
volleyball. And for those who think my
wishing for anything actually has any
power over the elements - do I have a
bridge to sell you. Okay now, lets get
down to business.
Last week I attended the celebration
St. Mary's School offered for sister
Adele on the event of her retirement.
Each class had put together a gift of
presentation for their school secretary,
(Mrs. Drennan) for her past 28 years
and what a great job they each did.
From start to finish the assembly was
an amazing tribute, offering Adele their
love and respect and a great way to let
her know they are going to miss her very
much. The cherry on top was an evening
function where we heard from past staff
and students, board members as well as
Adele's own children. A day and evening
to remember, adding to the 28 years of
memories Mrs. Drennan takes with her
Debbie Bauer
on this next part of her adventure.
I received a lovely surprise in the mail
this week. A regular reader sent me a
tea lovers book as well as a personal
poem for yours truly. Every bit was a
joy to read and is a treasure to keep.
Thank you Shari Million for the lovely
thought and exceptional effort put into
the graphics included in my gift. We are
all extra busy this time of year so it was
especially thoughtful of Shari to go to
such lengths to say she enjoys my col-
umn. Thank you Shari and the kettle is
always on.
Recently in euchre: With five tables
Dave Sproul and Clarance Allin tied
with 68 and Tom Young had 65. High
pink card Margaret Young with 70 and
Evelyn Christensen with 68. Lone hands
were tied at four by Rieta Harris and
Cindy Hill.
That's all I have for now. From here
forward, anything I have to say would
be pure fiction.
Good luck with the big mall rush every-
one. See you in two weeks - if I haven't
crawled inside a big turkey somewhere
and can't find my way home. If you
have any news for me please email wd-

Christmas to all.
